THE COLAS WEDDING
THE COLAS WEDDING
How did we meet?!
By Noemi
On August 27th, 2024, I arrived in Las Vegas. I knew I would be an intern at The Crossing Christian Church, that I would be cared for, and that I’d have many opportunities to serve God — but I definitely didn’t know I would meet my future husband there!
I remember that moment like it was yesterday. Shortly after my arrival, Pastor Loran Lichty took me out to lunch so I could meet my team. I tried my best to make a good impression on everyone. At one point, Pastor Loran jokingly said, “Listen everyone, Noemi is talented, and we’d love to keep her at The Crossing — but for that to happen, we need to find her a husband.” At that moment, I glanced at Ben, he looked at me, and I just knew — our story had just begun.
We started working together in the Communications Department at The Crossing Christian Church, and that’s where our relationship began — first as friends, and the rest is history.
The journey truly began at The Crossing.
The Proposal
By Ben
I think proposing was one of the bravest things I’ve ever done in my life. My nerves were through the roof, and my wonderful family was praying for me, hoping everything would go smoothly.
The morning of my flight to Poland, I was talking with my sister and Miriam, Noemi’s sister, trying to decide if proposing at the airport would be special enough for her. After that conversation, I finally felt peace about it. I still had one last workday before my flight that evening, so I went in and got settled.
That’s when Riena — who had absolutely no idea I was proposing in just 48 hours — came up to me and said, “Ben, can I tell you something that God put on my heart?”
I said, “Of course.”
Then she said, “I wasn’t even going to mention this because I didn’t want to sound weird… but God says, He approves.”
In that moment, It like a hug from God letting me know I was doing the right thing.
When I landed in Poland, I picked up my luggage, saw Noemi, got down on one knee — and the rest is history. Her entire family was there to capture the moment and celebrate with us. It was absolutely perfect.
